Regulated use of the Independent Winemaker label

The Confederation of Independent Winegrowers of France owns several trademarks, including the trademark registered in France on August 4, 2000, under number 00 3 045 241, and the international trademark registered on December 30, 2010, under number 1072024, designating the European Union in particular.

This trademark designates, in particular, class 33 for alcoholic beverages, wines, etc., and class 35 for services assisting wine growers in the management of their businesses and assisting wine merchants and distributors. This trademark is registered as a collective trademark.
 

The use of the trademark/logo on any medium whatsoever without valid authorization is prohibited

According to the regulations registered with the INPI National Trademark Registry, only members of the CONFEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT WINE GROWERS OF FRANCE who have paid an annual fee and comply with the conditions of use set out in the regulations are authorized to use these collective trademarks.

A company may be authorized to reproduce the “VIGNERON INDÉPENDANT” logo only under the conditions set out below:

  • that the request for reproduction comes expressly from VIGNERONS INDÉPENDANTS DE FRANCE or an authorized member (federations belonging to VIGNERONS INDÉPENDANTS DE FRANCE or winegrowers belonging to these local federations) and is for its own use
  • the person making the request for reproduction has a logo agreement with the Confédération des VIGNERONS INDÉPENDANTS DE FRANCE on the date of the request;
  • the reproduction of the “VIGNERON INDÉPENDANT” logo complies with the characteristics and technical elements as well as the rules set out in the graphic charter.
