The history of the Independent Winegrowers movement

Created in the 1970s, the Independent Winegrowers movement was born out of a simple but essential need: to defend a winegrowing model based on independence, diversity, and the creation of a product in its entirety. Faced with standardization and concentration in the sector, winegrowers from all over France chose to unite to make their voices heard. Since then, the Union has consistently pursued this collective ambition: to enable every independent winemaker to make a living from their profession, freely cultivate their vision of wine, and share their passion.
